This reminds me of when one of my best friends came out as Bi to me after college. We were sitting in her room where there were no less than 4 fantasy prints of beautiful women in very little clothing. I was like "Uh huh. Yes. My surprised face."

My niece recently came out as gay. She is way into Margot Robbie. Girl’s got good taste.

My mother just thought I was a fan of Demi Lovato and pointed to a collage I'd made of Taylor Lautner as evidence to my heterosexuality. My father informed her this was just evidence of a budding bisexual.

I had a Titanic poster which I performatively kissed because I thought this is what teenagers were supposed to do.

My father always raised me with the language of neutrality
I was bug and sweetheart rather then princess or baby girl
I was always told "when you start dating" or "when you find someone" rather the "when you find a guy"
I think all of this made me feel so comfortable to explore and question my gender and sexuality.
So the day he came home to find my girlfriend in his house he was more worried I snuck someone in rather then who I was dating

when I "came out" my momma just said "oh honey, I already knew that!"
genuinely didn't know how to respond haha. Just so glad she's been supportive. 😊

When I grew up lesbian was a word I wasn’t allowed to say at home and it was considered a bad thing at school and in my friend group. I wish I could have had the freedom to grow this way. You two are so lovely to watch. Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely nobody. I only have one picture of myself after my parents literally begged me to put it there. I mostly just have paintings that I created. Is it any surprise that I’m ace?

I didn’t have posters on my walls but had family photos in frames on my desk along with a few candles, I’ve basically been 40 since I was 8 😆

My sisters both plastered their walls in magazine fashion photo shoots and celebrity paps, and there I was drawing blobs of color and copying Pokemon art.
I now have wonderful niblings and it turns out aces exist 🤷🏻‍♀️

I came out as gay to my mom, crying and everything, and she just looked at me and went "I knew since you were 7 when you cried for months for a girl, I thought you knew I knew"

I did have any posters up because I didn’t want anyone to know who I liked. Lol

Ever since i was a kid i always ended up liking men (friends or celebrities) that turned out to be gay later on.

Like celebrity crushes ? They all turned out to be gay. My friends i had crushes on ? Gay.

I have like a weird gay radar where if i like a guy i go "ah, he's probably gay."

The '90s were a dark time for posters... But I had ANIMALS on my walls, horses and wolves for days. And what do you know, I still love both. (I also eventually had some cute girls and guys from nerdy things I liked...and, hmm, same, still love both. Just even more nerdy now.)

Being older, my youth was 60 - 70's and I had mostly trendy group pics or band members on my wall. If I was biased toward women's images, it was because of the changing times and Women were starting to be represented in more diverse ways and it got my attention. More assertive roles for women, marches for equal rights and questioning old stereotypes. Thank gosh. I really noticed when a female was more empowered and depicted in the media. It was new, not the 50's normal.

I didn’t have posters on my walls. I drew and cutout fairies and flowers and taped them on the wall with my other artwork.

When I came out as gay to my parents they were more or less like “honey you’ve had posters of kpop groups with hearts around them on your wall for the past 10 years, and your “friend” Steven wasn’t fooling anyone.”

Mine was David Cassidy as I definitely *was* expected to conform... in fact I had no idea of female homosexuality or transgender or non binary... But looking back David Cassidy was one of the most feminine looking men and I quite liked his music... I'm thinking Marc Bolan must have been too 'out there'! 😂 The transition from happy kid, playing football wanting to be a boy and that being tolerated, to suddenly realising I was expected to start thinking about playing with boys in a different way and dressing as a girl all the time, not just when mum felt like dressing us up, was pretty traumatic back in the seventies!

I had Keira Knightly, Orlando Bloom, Avril Lavigne, Pink and Tatu on my walls 😅
