Harris and Biden have both done press conferences about the Hurricane. and FEMA officials are in Asheville. They are coordinating efforts in an effective, strategic, systematic way. When a President or Vice President visit an area, it is a tremendous drain on local law enforcement to protect them. It would be extremely irresponsible for them to come too sooner, when law enforcement needs to be prioritizing finding survivors. The fact Trump went into any hurricane-impacted area was extremely selfish, since his photo ops meant law enforcement had to focus on protecting him there instead of keeping order and finding survivors.
