BRINGING HOME OUR HUNGARIAN VIZSLA PUPPY - VILJA

BIG NEWS!

We got a vizsla puppy. Her name is Vilja, and in this video we bring her home to Brännskär. We have been planning to get a dog for many years and now seemed to be the right time. We got her from Finland; Kennel Kallioalanteen. Her kennel name is Kallioalanteen Regina ( mum Kallioalanteen Kreeta, dad Cinkei Bicska). We have been waiting for her to come to us since July, when we first heard that the litter was on the way.

We chose the breed because it is friendly, loyal, active and great for hunting.

Vizsla love to sleep inside human bed under the blanket. If you want to make her happy you can authorize her to sleep on your bed (not under the blanket but on top of it) during the night. If you choose to do that you will see she will always choose to sleep curled position near your feet, that's how Vizsla sleep : at the feet of their master. But she will always be in a different position when you wake up : for example sleeping on her back with her legs straight up crossed and her head turned toward her tail or something weird like that. She won't try to come under the blanket during your sleep if you said no from the beginning. Scientists have proven that sleeping with your dog increase the bond you have with him/her on the long term. Also try to remember to give her something to "hide" inside her own bed. Like a puffy blanket or something like that, Vizsla love to be able to cover themselves, they burry themselves under blankets because they like that (lot of dogs do as it gives them protection feeling and warmth) and here being a shorthaired dog in a cold area she may like it more. And be ready to see a lot of "weird" behaviours, for example you'll see that before going to bed at night your Vizsla will suddenly start running and spinning around the house at 300km/h ... that's normal. Or always "talking" (in Vizsa of course) thats normal too (an its actually funny because you can have real conversations). And when she will grow up if you notice destructive behaviour (for example eating your furnitures, eating your walls, eating your couch chairs etc etc.) then it means she is bored and need more exercice and more time with you. But it may never happen to you as you have lot of room for her to play and exercice :) Thanks for the video and i wish you the best.

I'm so happy for you (even though I'm two years late). We have vizslas ourselves and they are a wonderful family dog! We're getting two puppies in a few weeks which is very exciting. Vizslas are the sweetest and are like velcro to your side. Wonderful dog breed to get! <3
