Former President Donald Trump is facing his greatest legal peril yet, as New York Attorney General Letitia James filed a civil lawsuit Wednesday against Trump, three of his children and his family business for widespread financial fraud. The suit alleges they overvalued assets by billions of dollars in order to secure more favorable financial arrangements, then deflated those values to pay less in taxes. If the lawsuit is successful, the Trump Organization could be barred from conducting business in the state of New York. "He's gotten away with this for decades. Now he's going to have to answer in civil court," says award-winning reporter David Cay Johnston, who has covered Trump for years. Also on Wednesday, a three-judge federal appeals panel, including two who were appointed by Trump, allowed the Justice Department to continue reviewing the documents seized by the FBI from Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate.

Based on your logic if an appraiser says a property is worth $250, 000, and another says its worth $300, 000 and you tell the bank its worth $300, 000 you can be criminally charged with fraud? Value Appraisal is always subjective, as a property investor this is the dumbest case i've ever heard. If Trump took the highest valuation to the bank, the bank is supposed to check if that value is in loan/risk range before releasing the funds( That's what an loan underwriter does) so if trump said "I think its worth 1 million" and the bank said "Yep, 1 million here's your money" there is no crime there. If the appraiser says "Its worth 1 Million" but Trump says "No I think its worth 2 million" and the bank says "Ok we will give you the 2 million" and he sells it for 2 million its still not a crime, its a valuation range. The only crime would be if Trump said a property was worth 10 million and got 10 million and sold for 1 million knowingly and defaulted on the loan(In which the bank would have to error as well on the underwriting valuation)...which didn't happen. Complete BS all around.

If the New York AG, Letitia James had a case, SHE WOULD HAVE PRESSED CHARGES.. She has not pressed charges. Why? BECAUSE she knows that if it went to trial, SHE WOULD LOSE! Also, do you think for ONE MINUTE a bank would give someone a loan against an existing property and not have the property appraised? The banks ALWAYS appraise the value before they secure a loan. Honestly how stupid do these people think we are? This propaganda crap has to end. It's so shameful.
