Mondeo ST220 vs Mazda 3 2.0

i think ppl are missing the fact that the mondeo is not an st220 its a diesel if it was the v6 model the sound alone would have drowned out the little Mazda plus you can hear the diesel turbo and last but not least those alloys are tdci alloys

@STmondeoman220 Well I´ve actually misread the video´s title. I thought that Mazda was an MPX with nealy 280 bhp, which is made to compete with the Subaru WRX and Lancer Evo, but that is actually a "normal" 2.0 150 bhp Mazda 2.0. In that case, you are very right, the Mondeo should have smoked him! Cheers mate

@ganjalistic ./.... i guess it comes down to a matter of choice, 40years ago fords were rust buckets and one key fits all. now adays ford are producing some quality cars, it is purely down to driver reaction and the state of maintenance on the vehicle, at least on paper the stats would suggest the mazda 3 2.0 would get done by the ST mondeo, if the power to weight was the same or similar then perfornce is similar, if not then one is faster than the other, if not built as well.

well mate it depends on what model you have, , if its a 175bhp version i could understand by power to weight it betters that of the mondeo but not by much, i doubt you blew it away and if you did may be the state of tune in that particular St wasnt all that, , i have a dreamscience remap in mine goes rather well, and from a standing start no focus 2.0 stock can ever touch a ST220 unless the driver is an idiot or the cars fucked. mirage need about 160bhp to equal ST220, , I know which i preffer

@madxico, no im fair if i thought the mazda could really have beaten a mondeo ST220 then i woud say so, . at least on paper it doest have enough power given its weight, . when you make both cars equal there is a 38bhp and about 50lbs torque difference, it cannot beat the mondeo. think of it as a same mazda 3 with an extra 38bhp, and 50ft lbs torque,

@St3nic3 Are you thick, thats a 2.0 little 150bhp, 1300kg car That works out at 115 bhp per ton roughly thats poor, it does 0-60 8.9 seconds against the mondeo ST 0-60 7.5 and a power to weight of about 148bhp per ton,

mazda 3 147 bhp 1335kg weight works out about 110 bhp per ton mondeo has 148bhp per ton. mazda 0-60 8.8 secs like i said mondeo would piss on that all day long, Do your research before you slag someone off. My mates St fiesta 2.0 would beat that easy.
