One of my good friends from High School was a flight attendant on this flight. Wendy Robinson was seated in one of the jump seats at the rear of the plane and survived. It's still very difficult for her to talk about the crash.

1:28 is absolutely wrong. The Pilots had no idea how severe the Windshear they would end up encountering would be. What caused the crash was the Pilot flying being concerned about his airspeed while being very low to the ground. This resulted in him pushing the nose down, which caused the plane's sinkrate to increase. Ultimately, the Pilot did not have enough Altitude to recover from the increase in Sink, which caused the crash. Captain Warren Vanderberg of American Airlines goes into great detail about this accident in the "Microburst Windshear" section of the Advanced Aircraft Maneuvering Program presentation. The video is on Youtube for anyone interested in getting a more accurate picture of what caused this Accident.

The pilots did try to go-around, unfortunately the microburst was too strong and they crashed.

facts are mistaken here. The pilots were not informed of the severity of the storm just as it happened. They had switched channels to the approach channel. The meteorologist was on a break just as the microburst hit the leading edge of the runway. It was not the way this guy described it. The pilots were not at fault

Miss you Seth Katz. My cousin died on Delta 191 flying from Fort Lauderdale after visiting our Grandparents back home to LA.

This is crazy my brother and I were supposed to be on this plane but my grandma strickland kept me and my brother 2 hours more with her so thankfully we missed it .. I would of been dead at 6 years old and my brother 11 years old it’s insane looking back at this…I’m thankful every day for my grandma strickland keeping us for just 2 more extra hours ..

I heard a story of one of the survivors seeing « entities » just before the crash. They were following the plane.
