Michigan PUNCHES it in to beat USC | What does it mean for the Wolverines and Trojans?

Michigan scored on fourth-and-goal with 37 seconds remaining to clinch a 27-24 thriller against USC.

Michigan controlled the first half. USC controlled most of the second. But the Wolverines mounted one more drive when it counted and scored on fourth-and-goal.

Give me a break on saying “would Michigan have won if USC had 2 weeks of film on this offense? No!” Everyone knew what Michigan was going to do with Orji at QB. It’s not like it was the most complicated offense ever. And the Trojans DID have film on Michigan’s defense and still could not keep Moss upright for most of the game. This loss falls on the fact that USC wasn’t as good as everyone was proclaiming them to be after they beat LSU and Lincoln Riley. I mean, how do you lose to a team that passed for 32 yards TOTAL?

USC didn’t fold came out second scored 3 td passes. The fumble then strip and the Edwards fumble gave USC 14 points.

Just to be clear.. Alex Orji absolutely does not have a noodle arm.. he has a cannon and he was clearly trying too hard to throttle it down.. he was aiming the ball instead of slingin it but if he can figure out the feel and rhythm of a few different pitches he’ll be just fine.

I agree. You guys who expect perfection so quickly from a building program with comments about getting rid of LR or MM and any of the coaching staff or players need to pump the brakes.
I was really proud of how our guys made adjustments after a rugged and awful first half and turned it into a close and amazing game. Yes, there were mistakes by the players, the coaches, the refs, as there always will be. But the character our team showed, never giving up and making this a game for the history books was impressive.
Yes, we lost the game and I’m bummed about it. But I think that we gained a lot of confidence and respect. I know we didn’t lose respect for this loss. Don’t hang your heads in shame and lament the blown plays and calls. We never expected to go undefeated this season.
Moore putting Alex Orji in as starter I think tilted the scales just enough to squeak out a win. If Warren were in, it might have been a different story.

We’re going to be alright with our season and recruiting. Hopefully we didn’t suffer too many serious injuries.
