I love how underwhelming and intentionally lame things are in Homestar Runner. When you think of the King of Town's food stores, you think peking ducks, lobsters, sauteed mushrooms, ropes of summer sausage and mountains of sushi. As soon as you go to his house, the best he has to offer is a vintage '83 of Awww Gratin and a pack of Butter Da.

When my niece and nephew were born my wife and I hatched this plan to call her dad "Butter-Da" all the time so the little ones would think that was a normal term for your grandfather. We were both surprised at how well he took to it. Now he calls himself Butter-da all the time and my niece and nephew do too!

I know Butter-da is supposed to be a contraction of "butter" and "soda", but I find it funnier when you remember that in Japanese, it would just translate into "It's butter".

Because The KoT would definitely be the kind of person to drink literally just butter in a can.
