I’m from Bangalore.
Climate change has now made it hotter.
It’s no more a green city,
Lakes have dried up/ constructed apartment buildings on,
Noise pollution, light pollution,
Pathetic traffic, potholes everywhere, narrow roads. Population too is exploding crazy, everything is insanely expensive now

Bangalore is in a strategic location with great weather, access to resources, and safe from attacks and calamities. Bangalore was chosen by the government in the 50s and 60s to host the HQs of all major government technology and manufacturing companies back in the day - HAL, HMT, BEL, BEML, DRDO, ISRO, ITI, IISc(this one's older) and 100 others. Talent has been flocking the city for generations now.

So don't credit the city's success to one US based tech company.

One more thing about BLR is that it spoils you with its wonderful weather!

You go to any other city, and you definitely feel it!

Kannadigas don't predominantly wear Vibhuti like in the characterization displayed, it's generally a Tamil thing. But it's understandable since it's just a small detail.

Rajiv Gandhi ushered in the Computerisation & Information Tech revolution in India in 1980s.

His reforms were implemented by Congress Govt & FM Dr Manmohan Singh in 1991 : Montek Singh Ahluwalia

Last major accomplishments of Rajiv Gandhi before his assassination in 1991 was finalisation of Congress ( Opposition ) manifesto for 1991 Lok Sabha elections.

Rajiv Gandhi had spent weeks to Shape & develope the manifesto.

Montek Singh Ahluwalia joined him in PM’s Office in 1985.

He was an early advocate of computerisation, pushing for its induction in different parts of govt.

That led to India’s emergence as a software & IT services Giant.

PM Rajiv to USA in in 1984 and assured all the required facilitate to US Tech Giants

He wooed GENERAL ELECTRIC & Texas Instruments to kickstart software exports.

Immediately after his visit, TEXAS INSTRUMENTS agreed to set up its Software electronics R&D in Bangalore, its first facility outside USA.

PM Rajiv change the government policy & set up facilities to operate a dedicated satellite Uplink infra to allow seamless connectivity with Houston USA.

Rajiv took a personal interest in ensuring that this was implemented urgently.

The huge success of the TI resort centre in Bangalore became a big story across world media

It set the trend for other multinationals to setting up similar huge ventures and campus technology campuses in Bangalore .

This trend expanded across India to Hyderabad Chennai trivandrum Delhi Pune .

Read the book, -- Backstage: The Story Behind India’s High Growth Years.

Well known Economist Dr. Manmohan Singh was tasked with implementing the same.

RBI Governor & well known Economist Dr. Manmohan Singh was made Economic advisor

Dr Manmohan Singh was a professor of international trade at Delhi School of Economics.

Dr Singh was made chief economic adviser in Finance Ministry

Dr Singh was later made Chief Secretary in Finance Ministry.

In July 1991, weeks after the Murder of Rajiv Gandhi, Congress came to power in the huge sympathy wave winning

Dr. Manmohan Singh as FM was criticised for ushering in economic reforms, he quoted from this manifesto, which in many ways bore Rajiv Gandhi's personal imprint.

PM Rajiv Gandhi's contributions to taking India into the IT age were also distinctive contributions.

As also his battle for giving Constitutional status to panchayats and nagarpalikas — a truly transformational move.

IT revolution & Panchayat's empowerment were his greatest contributions. it is easy to criticize Rajiv today, but, what he set in motion in 1980s has left a large imprint on the economy and federal structure.
