Thanks GlobalNCAP for bringing out the reality by these tests

By this we all can see how hard the new norms of tests have been
Good job!
Now the cars which would get 3 stars would also be considered not as bad as the cars which got 3 earlier

Ignis have performed well in practical accidents..have saved passengers with minor injuries.. In that case swift rating should be minus 3 stars..

How come 16.48 out of 34 is 1 Star. It is almost half of the total points. 19.19 out of 34 for Swift is 1 star.. but 29.45 for Scorpio is 5 star... What logic ncap has got ?

I don't get it. The Cabin integrity seems good. The same car was given I guess 3 stars back in 2017-18. But updated norms give it 1 star. Does it mean the car is built different from 2017 one or is testing different.

None of the TATA cars have been tested with the updated 2022 July NCAP norms. If a 3 star car (IGNIS earlier was given 3 stars by the same organization) can get 1 as per the updated norms, then it is bound for TATA cars to get less stars if tested with the updated norms. Tata Tiago is going to get not more than 2 stars if tested now with this updated norms.

Didn't the exact same india spec car score 3 stars? Even if the crash test norms have changed, shouldn't make such a big difference

Seriously disappointing
I thought it would be atleast 3 stars but ye it's still maruti

I think Global NCAP must do crash test speed of 10km/hr for only maruti suzuki cars so I am dam sure that anyone can't get disappointment...

Was this test conducted recently? This is the old Ignis, the new Ignis has a different front grill and rear bumper.

But this is the old model ignis...not 2020 facelift model...should have tested on latest model

Norms have changed now all the cars which were tested earlier, now will drop by 1-2 stars easily considering 6 airbags standard, esc, airbag on/off control, etc. The companies need to add in these features, however the structure of the car performed same only as earlier.

Suzuki needs to seriously consider stepping up it's safety game with both the Ignis and Swift 2 airbags isn't enough in today's world of safety

FUN FACT : S-PRESSO IS THE HIGHEST RATED(IN TERMS OF POINTS IN ADULT SAFETY) AMONG THE RECENTLY TESTED MARUTI SUZUKI CARS

I believe this standard safety is not shared with the EU market since the ignis in Europe has 6 airbags (lateral) and comes with pedestrian radar etc etc… can someone clarify ? I read that in the EU they come fully equipped, but the same doesn’t happen with “maruti” version in India, or Australia
