The 2023 Honda City gets minor changes over the outgoing model and since Honda has discontinued the diesel variant, we thought of doing a mileage test with the petrol CVT (non-hybrid) variant!

We love diesel engines for rugged character, good milage, insane torque, and feel… ❤️ there is no other replacement for diesels. My ecosport 1.5 diesel shows in mid 25km/l and on highway i got 22 easily on cities hit 17 for sure

Nothing can replace the grunt of a powerful Diesel engine. If you floor a petrol car for more power, it will drain your wallet...🤕🤕🤕🤕

Hello.. I would want to change my comment. I learnt a lesson. Light footed driving and driving at less than 1500 rpm yeilds a great milege to the City. Now it gives me consistently 12-14 in city and a whooping 24-26 km per litre in highway with AC on. It is stupendous on how the car is so efficient.

I got 17.5. Round trip of 1, 000 kms. At an average speed of 100 kmph

I remember your test drive on Strong Hybird car on average speed of 90-95 km/h provided you 19 or 19.5 Km/l mileage. Here with almost same speed you are getting same or marginally better mileage. The Strong Hybrid seems to be defeated IMO then. @MotorBeam team, can you please provide your thoughts on this?

Whatever the media drive videos suggest, being a honda city owner for over a decade now, real world mileage would not exceed 15.5 kmpl on a long run on various road conditions. You might get 17-18 on a smooth highway at 90 km/h on extremely light foot. But that is ideal scenario in India on long trips. On the single lane highway with average surface quality, the mileage drops significantly. Hence, expect 13 kmpl in city and 15.5 or 16 at max on the highway

Wish you had done the pure bumper to bumper mileage test

I have been using 5th Gen City from past 1 year now and I am easily getting 17kmpl in city roads and 21-22kmpl on good smooth highway runs having speed between 90-110kmph.
And rest is history ❤️

Hi parth, I own a 10th gen Honda Civic zx petrol. My daily commute happens to be in city and or slow driving conditions, I get very bad FE of only around 7-8kmpl. It only has around 6k km on the odo. Would love to do such a mileage test on my civic with your team. I feel so envious of the fe figures

You are as tall as I am, just wondering, how come your head is not bumping against the lowered roof of the car due to it's sunroof. How do you manage that?

Show it on the city roads only! Also show i20 CVT on city rough roads and it’s mileage.

I don’t get mileage at all in city but on highways I get 15 in i20 CVT

Driving at 55 kmph for mileage test is outright misleading

Can you show low this mileage could go. I mean in completed city bumper to bumper traffic.
