Europe's largest freshwater lake also called the Hungarian Sea. It's about 48 miles long and 8 miles wide, with an average depth of around 10 feet.

Lake Balaton is surrounded by picturesque villages, vineyards, and volcanic hills. Balaton's water temperature can reach a comfortable 26-28°C (79-82°F) in the summer, making it a popular swimming destination.

Not only we discovered Balaton from around but we took a ferry to cross it. The Szántód-Tihany Ferry took us on the other side of Balaton from Szántód to Tihany.
Small Hungarian Village known for its unique geographical features and rich history.

Tihany lays on the Peninsula of Balaton. This village is famous for the Tihany Abbey, founded in the 11th century. It’s a historic Benedictine monastery with architectural marvels. Tihany's area is also known for lavender cultivation, with fields painting the landscape purple during the whole summer.

Tourist from all around the world visit this village for its charming streets and local gastronomy, including fish dishes and regional wines. Tihany holds traditional character, making it a beloved destination for cultural immersion and natural beauty in Hungary.
