Top Things I Love / Hate about my Stage 2 F90 M5

F90 owner here. I changed my pads to EBC red stuff. 98% less noise, 50% less brake dust. $500ish total installed by dealer. Problem pretty much solved. Also, get the LCI taillights.

Your KEY DUDE. The Key leaving the car disconnects car play. Not really a “problem”

You can get the wheels ceramic coated with dedicated wheel ceramic coating. The brake dust wont stick that much to wheel and basic wash with basic shampoo, will make them look good again.

For CarPlay not to be disconnected just leave the key inside the car when you exit and it will work

That’s too funny, I just bought my F90 M5 in August too! It’s also my very first BMW, had 4 different Audi’s over the past the past decade. I LOVE my M5 and 100% agree with you, two things I hate about mine are the noisy ass brakes and the Car Play shutting off as soon as I get out of the car!! Love your interior, mine is black on black, wish I could have found one with that brown interior that’s beautiful!

I have a 2018 F90, stage 2 with VRSF downpipes and a full Frequency Intelligence exhaust. I have the carbon ceramics as well and they're perfectly quiet for me, they only let out a little squeak if it's wet and cold but go back to being quiet. After driving the car for around 5, 000 miles the calipers and wheels were barely dirty at all, I had to get up close when I wiped the dust off with my finger to see a difference. The biggest downer to CCBs is when they get wet and cold they pretty much don't work for a few seconds when using the breaks for the first time. That'll make you need to change your pants after getting off the freeway lol. I'm surprised that as a Mercedes guy you didn't mention the backup camera, it's the only gripe I have with mine because BMW has a fixed camera as opposed to Merc. that has it pop out when you go into reverse, so the camera is just dirty all the time. Otherwise, I love mine.

Which company did the tune? Also, is it stock M performance exhaust or the regular M sport exhaust?

Sounds amazing! What down pipe do you have on it? And what did you do about the check engine light that comes with the down pipes?

I am planning to get one in august. I am not sure how much is the right price for it. Could you please advise me on both M5 and the competition 2018 and 2019 models with around 20-30k miles on them? Also, your whip looks amazing

the only way carplay wont turn off is if you leave the key in the car. once the key leaves the car, bluetooth disconnects. hope this helps lol.

It's not that people are removing them now, BMW don't give you that B&W sound system option anymore. When I ordered my '22 M5 Comp last year September I could add the B&W sound system option and after like 2-3 weeks I see that option has been removed from their site completely. My car was held up in Baltimore port for almost 2 months for the audio chip to be finally available and installed. Got it a week back and all in all it took 8 months from ordering and wait time is still getting worse

The phone issue is you have to turn off the blue tooth and use a usb connect leave and when you get in or out it will stay on. Wireless tells when there’s no weight in the driver seat and it stops it but if it’s connected by usb and Bluetooth off it will stay on

Have a 19 M5C with Ceramics, brakes still squeak a ton at low speeds. Just the nature of them.
