It has an interesting concept cuz lot of times these days in animated movies, you don’t see them tackle this kind of situations. But it’s such a double edged sword, cuz one side, you’ll have people liking the idea but see how underdeveloped it is, then the other side where people hate the idea and think it’s something that shouldn’t be explored.

Take Infinity Train as a good example of how to write a storyline about divorce, Tulip is crushed by her parents splitting up and it has a negative effect on her life. Like her dad not being able to take her to a special programmer camp that she wanted to go to pretty badly. At the end of her journey, she realizes that her parents weren't happy together and were no longer in love and that she has to accept change as a part of life.

I cried very VERY hard when Ellian hugged her younger self. That's what I always think of doing whenever I'm upset. She was just a little girl. And so was I.

I think there is a connecting line through the film. Its about a child desperately trying to repair the broken family, her family has turned into 'monsters' due to forcibly staying together for her. THe princess then goes on a whole quest to try and fix things and when she cant, she blames herself. Something really common in children of divorce or incoming divorce. Could they have delivered it in a MUCH better way, don't get me wrong, I seen the movie and there were some parts that just made me go 'HUUUH?? well ok ig.'

I actually loved that the movie went through with it. Many movies have the topic of divorce but they always chicken out and make the parents get back together but this movie deals with it wonderfully. The parents fought and fought to the point they couldn’t stand to be around each other and they realized that nothing could change that. They needed to divorce before they hurt their daughter

I wish it leaned on the topic of divorce more. It's almost as if it was an after thought.

I put this movie on for my nephew and watched it with him. It's a good kids film as my nephew really enjoyed it the concept of parents being turned into something the kid has to deal with is playful enough to keep kids entertained for a long time. In the end I feel like it didn't matter what the parents were fighting about because a child could never understand that to begin with, theyll never understand why adults fight about what they do until they're older

If you want a movie about divorce aimed at kids that’s actually good, watch Mrs. Doubtfire instead.

Winx Club had a divorce story long before this. I realize it.

I think its good that the reason of divorse is so simple.
its not always a drama behind it, you know.
and its the hardest think for kid to understand.

I remember commenting that the poster (at least the background)looked a lil AI, and people went full ballistic on me as if I’m attacking it.
Just cause I say it looks, doesn’t mean it is

The Internet never disappoints

I definitely think this is a concept that deserves to be explored. However, it needs to be handled with care. I could see it being explored in a Pixar film around the same time as Turning Red or Elemental, but they're going back to more broad concepts...

... How did I completely miss the controversy behind John Lasseter? I had no idea he left Disney/Pixar and it's been years! I had to Google "John Lasseter controversy" to figure out why Saber didn't like him and somehow I completely missed that when it happened. 😬

I loved the movie because I went through it, and it hit apart of my heart that was sore and damaged, and I appreciate the messages. In my opinion, don't come at me for liking something. But it could be better in its own right and change things, but I like it the way it is for the most part.

As long as we’re talking Netflix originals, please consider making a video about ”Jentry Chau vs. the Underworld” because it is legitimately amazing and especially impressive when you consider that it’s the creator’s first TV series that she has made
