Man, the students are great, those questions are amazing, now I'm not sure if i can be a good enough teacher to teach students like them.

Anything that you can think of has coordinates on a Cartesian plane. This means that you can find the equation of your own portrait. Very cool stuff

Isn't it amazing? One has to exclude life, has to close the window, darken the sun, sit in a steril classroom with a clock ticking above the presentation .. and for what? To learn, how life works.
Hm...Maybe that's the wrong approach...

I'm sorry, but a Maths Teacher should know that:

1. "Connecting the dots" is not always possible. It'll depend on the Domain of the function. In fact, for these functions, you CAN'T connect them.

2. (y-7) / (x-2) = ... is NOT a straight line (for that equation, x can't be equal to 2... and straight lines are continuous).

3. CURVED LINES EXIST and are very interesting...

Why do you not just say a linear function has degree 1, non linear functions have degree not equal to 1? You overcomplicate this.
