Conspiracy theory: The toxic friend actually secretly set the viewer (us) and our bf up in an attempt to deflect her feelings for us. Instead, the opposite effect took place, and our friend becomes increasingly jealous of our bf as her feelings grow stronger for us and we keep getting closer to our bf. Our bf knows abt our friend's feelings for us, which is why he keeps quiet and doesn't stick up for himself when our friend is mean to him.
