I've spent a few months with the xTool F1 Ultra and I think I really like it. There are a few small downsides, but overall it's the most advanced and intuitive fiber laser that I've had the pleasure of using.

Your standard Fiber lasers can take 300mm lenses, the standard ones are not limited to 200mm. I have only seen that limit on the smaller budget machines that try to put out a more compact machine. I have a 110mm, 150mm, and 300mm for my 30w Mopa. The 150 lens is my primary lens, 110 if I need more depth/power, and 300 for larger projects that just need to be marked without any depth.

I can see where the F1 max would be more appealing to some users with its ease of use and camera system. Also having the built in shield/enclosure is nice for hobby users or those with kids. Seeing the flex is a little disappointing, and a bigger downside than the price when compared against your standard fiber laser considering the nice to haves that it does come with.

Thank you for the excellent and informative video! I’ve always been curious about the xTool F series, and I didn’t realize just how big it is until now. I really appreciate your honest presentation style!

I'm more concerned about things like longevity and after purchase customer service. Thanks for the great vid!

As always, I appreciate your insights to this and other kit in general!
I've had this laser for a couple of months and slowly putting it to use. I did also get the new filtration box.
In your view would it be feasible to remove the embedded fan and rely on using the external filter as it's controlled via Bluetooth? In doing so, avoiding that debris build up you mentioned.

Hey Rob, a question. For the metal dust, what if we immersed the part in a silicone oil and cycled it with a small pump that is filtered with some coffee filters paper? Would the oil be transparent to the laser? I choose silicone oil for the temp tolerance. Water would turn to steam and explode.

I ended up buying a Laserpecker lp5 on sale for half, unsure about the software, I have found I like the laserpecker software but I have not used anything else so I would not say I actually know anything better or not. I do have the laserpecker lxmax also, so getting the lp5 seemed like the better setup for me to keep it all one company and the max for me so far has been good.

Hi from Britland; not a bad review but I'm confused why you handled the laser housing and safety cover so roughly...?! It's obviously not an industrial type of machine and hobbyist or small business craftworker would never handle it or put it in an environment where it had the potential to rough-house it like you did! I've looked at dozens of reviews over the last few weeks and not a single other reviewer brought that up... also none of them opened up the back...? do you think doing that may have caused the problem? Anyway; still not a bad review and it hasn't put me off gett the F1 Ultra bundle or the M1 Ultra bundle in the summer. Thanks for posting, take care.

Side eyeing my 300x300 fiber 😅🤣 jokes aside really want to pick one of these up to work on more organic materials. C02 looks cool but takes up a lot of space with most models

I'm curious about the cutting ability of this thing for thin brass and stainless, we use 0.2mm to 1mm stainless a lot at work for making masks. Or are there companies putting that fiber laser setup on an x-y gantry for cutting?

great overview (you've made it clear it's not a review :P) - it does leave me with a more general question, if you'd be willing to entertain it: I think at this stage in my making endeavours, the only reason why I would want a fibre laser is to mark 3d prints and most fibre lasers seems far too expensive for that... am I making a bad assumption in that Fibre lasers are the only option (and if they aren't are they the *best* option, mechanically) to mark prints?

Can I create black colored lettering engraving onto natural aluminum anodize? And vice versa, can I create natural aluminum colored lettering onto aluminum that is black or some other color anodize? I have a need to letter anodized aluminum electronic control panels, labeling the switches, knobs, etc.

Great overview! I was considering one of these but the wobbly build quality is pretty disappointing... Really curious why seemingly no other manufacturers have attempted a polished all-in-one form factor like this?

How do I subscribe to the "lasers Robert reviews but doesn't want to keep" sale page? Haha

Think you are being a bit dramatic about the movement of the machine ie the build. There is no laser out there that I have used that like being knocked when in use if you are moving it as much as you were dramatically showing you really shouldn’t be using a laser 😂

Ok, tilting/mirrors cause angled "cuts"... so why this laser doesn't end up on a gantry like diode lasers do - is module too big for that?

Not sure why you want to grab and shake the cover. Pull it down gently.

The xtool f1 ultra is inconsistent and I recommended people don't buy it. First you have to deal with calibration issues, then framing issues and now I can barely get it to engrave after 20 hours of use and xtool support don't do anything about it.
