Here’s a transcription of four different ways to improvise over the first eight bars of All the Things You Are, each using a different harmonic approach with increasing complexity.

I’m playing a Burnin' alto mouthpiece 7 and a 2.5 BetterSax Jazz Cut Reed on the BetterSax Tradition, a nice-looking horn that is available exclusively for rent on @sweetwater. For students, this is the best deal you’ll ever find!

You never stop amazing me: authentic organic jazz, tonality, phrasing, articulation, coherence, smoothness, pacing, inflections, politeness ...

The horn or the man?

Both:1st, the man; 2nd, the horn❤

Jay, excelentissimo❤❤❤❤❤

does this theory of 3rds and 7ths work only when the chord’s are separated by a major 4th? like D to G to C to F to B etc…
