I like that you tell the info about the people behind the gravestones and you are respectful 😊

Thanks for sharing this, I live close by and had no idea there were so many cemeteries in the park boundaries.

I just found your channel. When I heard that you are from Pennsylvania I was so excited because I was born in New Castle and lived there until I was 10. My family is all from PA. It’ll always be home❤ thank you so much.

This is so cool! I moved away nearly 30 years ago, but this brings back memories of going to Lake Arthur as a kid and the numerous old family plots in Butler County. I grew up near the Muddy Creek Presbyterian Church on route 8 and its cemetery (where the massacred Wigton family is buried) and our neighbors had an old family plot from the late 1800s in the woods next to our house. I didn't know Moraine had so many cemeteries.

This was so interesting to see how many cemeteries Moraine state park has. I find the weathered headstones and markers to be beautiful looking. There is a small family plot in the local state park near me.

I enjoyed you video. My fifth grate grandfather was Robert Stewart. He was the first white man to settle what would become muddy creak township. His children married into the Mc Connell family and the Snyder's. I find history amazing. Keep up the good work.👍

Thanks for this great video. I'm a new subscriber. I have heard alot about Moraine State Park, but haven't been there. I really appreciate that you told us alot of information about the people buried in the cemeteries. You are always very respectful of the graves. I love the drone shots, too. Very interesting video. I moved into Allegheny County 10 years ago. I moved into Northern Westmoreland County 7 yrs. ago. Originally from Clearfield County, so I'm still learning about Western PA. I love history, so thanks again for all the info about those buried in those cemeteries in Moraine State Park.

Interesting! I used to spend a week or so every August camping at Cooper’s Lake campground across the interstate from Moraine Lake State Park with thousands of people in my Society for Creative Anachronism Medieval Recreation Club. Unfortunately for me I was interested in history, but not my Ancestry since I’ve learned since I moved across country that some of my people came through that area heading West in 1806.

Years ago I used Cody's booklet and found 10 of 11 cemeteries listed. If anyone goes make sure you use tick repellent and go before the greenery grows up. Happy hunting!

there is a very old unmarked cemetary about 3/4ths out in the woods behind my house, wish they weren't so weathered

Pronunciation of Zion is as one word and is Zion like Zion park in Utah. You weren’t required to have a midwife! You were lucky to have a knowledgeable woman or women there to help a birthing mother through what was the most dangerous day or days in her life. (Still is since dying during or immediately after bearing a child can still be deadly)

THE ORGAN MUSIC IS TERRIBLE, OTHERWISE,
I ENJOYED THE VIDEO. HOW DID YOU FIND OUT
ABOUT THERSE CEMETERIES? WHEN I WAS A
KID, WE WERE TOLD ABOUT THE SUNKEN GRAVES
IN A SMALL PLOT OFF OF LITTLE SEWICKLEY CREEK
ROAD. IT WAS AN UNMARKED CEMETERY THAT DID
HAVE SUNKEN AREAS THAT MAY HAVE BEEN GRAVES.
THEY WERE EITHER REINTERED, SOMEWHERE ELSE OR
ACTUALLY SUNKEN IN FROM TIME GONE BY.
