Hello professor Walter lewin i am ananya Kumari I read in class 10 those who try never give up 😊
Speaking about a period T within thos problem to refer to the angular velocity is beat confusing, as there is no constant period ( and no constant angular velocity), as the ball keep s accelerationg with a constant acceleration, and therefore the period of one full rotation will get shorter and shorter as the train / belt and the ball both accelerated 🤗🤗
Thank for lecture 💐🥰

Sir if a body moves with pure rolling then what is the acceleration and velocity of that point which is contact to the surface

Is not friction in opposite direction of relative motion between belt and the ball? Friction should be leftwards in this case if belt is going rightward. What am I missing?

Note: as a sanity check you can also calculate the energy used to move the belt over time (F x belt travel distance) and verify that it equals the total kinetic energy of translation and rotation of the ball.

It seemed easier though. Would that I were not such a naive! Yet not giving up so quick. Going to check 8.01 soon.
