The brakes on my 283 SS were inadequate, I can’t imagine stopping that boat anchor. It was a great car.😊

There was numerous additions and changes. The SS badging was different than the conventional super sport badging. The rear panel only had the black on half of the back in. They had clocks they had the factory stereo they had the four-speed transmission they had 160 mile an hour speedometer they were 375 horse hydraulic lifter. The Corvettes had the 425 horse solid lifter motor. I remember a guy working a few blocks from my house. His son had bought one and then got drafted so he took over payments on it, you could only get them in yellow black and red vinyl tops was an option and strangely enough they did not have a positive attraction. It was an open rear end. My dream has been to find the only convertible made but it seems to be missing an action rumor had it, Bunky Knudson ended up with it about a decade ago they auctioned off the one that Dan Blocker bought rumor was he slept in the show room because they wouldn’t release it to him till the next morning😮

I love the '65 Chevelle Malibu SS in all forms! According to production records, 212 Chevelle Z16's were made. Sadly, it didn't have a positraction rear end. That's a convertible Chevelle Malibu SS in the video, not a Z16.

A 4 speed 396 car with posi 3.22 was a very quick car with headers and drag slicks, but the first several years of 396 had puny rod bolts and many of them broke causing catastrophic engine damage.
