I think she just made a video trying to show that shes trying to see if the hack is true or false.. Seeing how she did it to just little bit of hair and stopped when they werent split ends..

And i feel that the video title should have been something like "trying to see if this split end hack works"..

Regardless its true that its damaging and you obviously shouldn't do it, its similar to scraping off the enamel from your teeth, in this case you are scraping off your hairs outer layer..

The video showed for reference was about how the silicon in our shampoo sticks to our hair and gives a fake shine. If y'all use a shampoo with silicon, and try this you will also witness the white powdery things. It is just accumulation of silicon.

That's not spilt end That's shading off the cuticles of the hair if u attempt to do that u will damage ur hair, cuticles protect ur hair from damage. So Do not try this everyone.

The video you showed was removing splits .it was low porosity hair which had formed layers of chemical coz moister is not locked deep in low porosity hair
