Virpil Constellation Alpha: Unboxing and review!

Today I'm reviewing the hotly anticipated Constellation Alpha grips, which are finally shipping after 7 months of waiting for pre-orders.

I was really looking forward to the Alpha.. For months. I finally got mine, played with it for a while... And put it on the shelf. I really do not like Virpil's switches. The hats feel really mushy as compared to my TM Warthog and F/A-18 sticks' controls, whose "clicks" are more, well, refined for lack of a better word. Likewise for the two-stage trigger. Also, I just really prefer the "heft" of the TM grips, which have some metal in them.

I will say that the Alpha has more weight to it than the VPC MongoosT-50CM2 that I had, and sold. But I think the switch feel is about the same.

For the moment I'm hanging onto it just in case I decide to finally dive into Star Citizen or Elite Command (due to the twist grip), but... If anyone in the continental US wants it, PM me with an offer.

I really don't like posting something negative about Virpil; I love their dedication to such a niche hobby and overall, the quality of their stuff. The VPC MongoosT-50CM2 Base just blows away the TMW one I have, and it's totally a keeper. But, I'm not so much about their grips.

I know this is an old vid but, I am now waiting on my own left and right Alphas + bases and mounts in the mail. My excitement got me looking at all vid about them again. Had to pause when you mention your old setup cause it was the same as mine I also had the throttle. I upgraded for the exact same reason.

Its a huge investment that i am considering myself so i would love if you could answer some questions :D How is the feel of the Alphas out of the box? I know Virpil sell some CosmoSim Cams, maybe u dont need em with the Alpha? The chair mounts you have, is that from Monstertech? You can still use mouse and keyboard with them mounted? I was considering desk mounts

How did you get s pair of these? Been trying for weeks. Always out of stock. The restock schedule is BS. Not until September will they restock. Here is the best part no grips or bases are on that list.

"Question" do know whats going on with the company Virpil? Do you happen to have any extra virpil grips you might want to sell? I really want the Alphas but found myself a victim of CV19 loosing my job then 2 months later being recalled back to work. So back in the market again. I've not seen any news from Virpil. So I was hoping you have heard something since they are the only ones making great quality Gear for a space sim in my opinion.
