Why CFD?
Our house is on fire. To put out this fire, we need to reduce emissions quickly, effectively, and fairly.
What is CFD?
Carbon Fee and Dividend can be likened to a 3-legged stool - 1) Fee placed on fossil fuels, 2) dividend returned equally to households, and 3) a border adjustment to protect US competitiveness.
What is being done locally?
There is increasing attention to CFD locally. During this legislative session, we had 4 CFD bills introduced and while they did not progress through all committees, they have increased the awareness of our legislators about the potential that pricing has on the mitigation of emissions. Last legislative session, there was just one CFD bill.
How you can make a difference?
Join CCL. They are a community of over 180,000 dedicated volunteers that are working to enable effective and durable national legislation. They are also involved in educating the public about the climate crisis and the actions that can be taken to mitigate it.
