Et in unum Dóminum Iesum Christum, Fílium Dei unigénitum, et ex Patre natum, ante ómnia sæcula.
Deum de Deo, lumen de lúmine, Deum verum de Deo vero, génitum, non factum, consubstantiálem Patri: per quem ómnia facta sunt.
Qui propter nos hómines et propter nostram salútem descéndit de cælis.
Et incarnátus est de Spíritu Sancto ex María Vírgine, et homo factus est.

This was the first work I conducted as a student at university and I remember giving such a violent down-beat at the beginning of the Credo that some loose change I had in my pocket flew out and rolled around the stage. One of our lecturers, John Joubert, said afterwards ''I see you added an offertoire to the mass!''

Thanks to this Credo from magnificent mozart's coronation mass, I really go deeper into what I believe, in these words that I normally recitate utter Credo during any Sunday or feast Holy Mass. Thank you Lord, for Mozart and his music, lifting a veil of your great glory <3

I remember singing this with my choir, it's a rather tough piece with harsh concentration on the rhythm and the text for everyone. It went all fine in the rehearsals and we thought we had it well under control... but the concert was conducted by a visiting conductor, so in the first practice rehearsal together with him and the orchestra he went about 3 times the speed and energy we were used to! We were panting and gasping for breath after each lengthy phrase! But we managed to keep up and earned a praise from the soloists too. Ah, the fond memories! And Mozart's music is simply beautiful.

Some say this piece is simple...until they give it a try. That's exactly Mozart's music....absolutely deceiving for the pompuos baroque-minded who usually despise the difficulty of singing his music. Yet...many make awkward mistakes when singing or playing Mozart. Thanks master, for this great lesson of humility.

My high school took the coronation mass to Carnegie hall to perform with 4 other choirs. It was the coolest thing I’d ever experienced. I love this mass. I love that I got to sing the soprano solo for the credo when we performed at my school. I just love it so much

Hearing this in it's proper context (at Mass) would likely be otherworldly. This ranks up there with Kodaly's Missa Brevis for me.

A nice recording. I was surprised to hear that Pinnock has his singers use German pronunciation of Latin. I thought that all English conductors (with the exception of Paul McCreesh) were using the Italian pronunciation of Latin.
