Setting up Traktor with Pioneer DJM900 Nexus and 2 x CDJ2000 - Studiocare

Hi, The key concept with this setup is that the DJM900 isn't controlling anything in Traktor we're simply disabling Traktor's built in software mixer and routing the audio straight into the DJM900 using it's built in 'soundcard'. Assigning the channels will be in Traktor's settings, once you set Trakor to external mixer, you need to select DJM900 as your audio interface then route your decks to the DJM900's 'USB channels' for example Deck A left > DJM900 USB0, right > DJM900 USB1 etc.

Hi. I think, (assuming you've installed the Pioneer software package) you're probably refering to the 'DJM900's Setting Utility" which by defult will pop up when you connect your DJM. For this setup, you can leave all parameters in their 'defult' state. The relevant settings are under the 'input' tab and the defult routing of CH1 = USB1&2 CH2 = USB3&4 ect are appropriate. You just have to chose external mixer in Traktor, select DJM900 & route the decks to your USB channels Hope this helps.

Great video mate one problem when you connect the djm 900 to the laptop there will be a pop up for the ponder 900 mixer what do I have to assign that to in order for the mixer with talk to the cdjs and traktor thank you

hey thnx a mill for your response since im ordering the 900 and its on its way in traktor pro 2 which i have, could u elaborate on the settings on how to program it as external as i will be using the traktor kontrol x1 for the decks and effects/ cue points. I am not going to use any tt or cdj;s with it for now. I just need help on the full mapping of the 900 plugged str8 into traktor .

you can just plug the cdjs into your mac via, usb make sure the phonos are plugged into the correct channels on the mixer. Then use the pioneer aggregator tool and it will use the cdj 2000s or nxs as a single sound card.

i use 2 cdj 2000 nexuses so there isnt a usb on the back, the usb on the front is for loading tracks so i am unsure if i still need a powered usb port i allready have the decks connected to me djm 900 with a ethernet hub

I have the native instrument s8 and want to get the cdj nexus 2 as a third channel.. is this possible to hook up to the s8 mixer till I can afford the others ?

if i hook up the djm 900 like u said how do i assign the channels? will the 900 be synced with all the channels and crossfader and volume? I have the x1 controller to do the rest in traktor.

friend is to get me one doubt, this USB hub vc called the two CDJ 2000 and another cable behind the mixer, and also another interface cable also in USB input mixer, the mac, so was wondering if u connected, in uSB hub 3 things, 2 are the CDJs and another and the cable behind the mixer, and bad one in the mixer input, which the mixer is connected uSB input directly on mac this friend? It is to enlighten me on this ? thank you, I saw that u showed istalaçao cd 's, need to be some softweare on mac, to link the CDJ and mixer, and what and softweare that you used ?

Just a question - if you do not have a driver CD, you are able to download this from the website right? Also, i have seen other tutorials which suggest you do not need to install the driver, this might be for the Traktor 2.5.1 version which suggest you only require to plug in and set up.

i only want 2 channels not 4. 1 & 4 on my djm 900 nexus mixer and want them to show both visibly on my laptop. At the stage im at i can do that but on my mixer its playing through 1 & 2

So just to be clear.... the 2000s are connected to the mixer by USB, or to the laptop by USB. You mention plugging in the 2000s to a powered hub, but you do not say whether the hub is connected to the 900 or to the laptop itself! :o)

Nice video ! I was just wondering if i could connect this mixer to laptop so that i can connect the CDJ 850 and CDJ 900 to control ! traktor ! i tried ! connceting CDJ 850 and CDJ 900 to my laptop with traktor 2.6.0 but it wasnt working ! :( can somebody help me ?!

quick question, the usb you fit to the back of the cdj 2000's, is that USB type B that goes to USB type A into the macbook? Thanks
