Sim7000A Demo, Part 1

Показать описание
This is a demo of the SIM7000A GSM/GPS Module.
In this part, I show you the connection points, the parts you need to get started, how to insert the SIM card, how to connect to the serial ports of the GSM and GPS modules, and how u-connect can read the GPS data.
The product link has a link to SIM7000 drivers. It is critical to download, install and/or update these drivers.
When you connect the SIM7000A, there is a delay before all 4 COM ports are seen. Please wait until you see all four before beginning your project.
Similarly, there is a delay for the GSM module to connect to the cellular network, and the GPS module to receive usuable data. Depending on the cable length/antenna you are using and the structure of the building you are in, this could be less than a minute, or up to 2 for GSM, 30 for GPS.
In the next part of the demo (which should be online in about 3 days), I will show you some basic AT commands to:
Check signal strength
Connect to the GSM network
Verify the IMEI
Verify the Serial Number of the Chip.
Identify the GSM Carrier
Dial a Number
