HOW TO | Repair Chrome OS Missing or Damaged on Chromeboook

In this video I show you how to reinstall the Chrome OS using a Acer C720 that has the "Chrome OS is missing/damaged" message on it. This is a relatively easy fix as long as you have another computer in your possession. The type of SSD in the Acer Chromebook C720 is M.2 The model number for the C720 to enter in the Recovery Utility is: sns415s3

Oh I wish I would have seen this earlier, my Chromebook did not work after trying the recovery method 3 times :( I did not know you could replace the ssd card so easily. Still have the Chromebook though so I think I will get a new ssd for it, and use it as a stand by:) Thanks for posting these videos, you are very helpful. Thanks from a new subscriber

Hi! I have a problem, I followed the steps and it worked great but then I turned off my chromebook and the next day I had the error again. I did the steps again and worked but I’m not sure if every time I turn off my computer it happens again. What can I do? please help

HELP. Once it states Writing 0% complete, I get a pop up that states "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer" (using/on my desktop). I click "no" and then the recovery sequence states " unknown error: Error with the connection to the removable storage writer service. Please try again.
I dont want to make any changes to my desktop....so why would it ask me that? Should I be clicking "yes" and wouldit complete the sequence on the memory stick? I'd hate to screw up my desktop.

What does it mean if tabs doesn't work? I saw on another video if you press tabs, it will tell you the errors but nothing happens when I press tab. I did the USB thing and nothing happens even after I tried again with a brand new USB. Was thinking about buying a SanDisk USB (I purchased a cheap 16 GB USB) but I don't want to waste money.
