As to the Pizza for those working at a pizza restaurant: Back 20 something years ago, I was a manager at a chain pizza place. Most times when someone messed up a customer pizza, as in you put the wrong toppings etc, and it had to be remade. We would just have the screwed up one for the crew, this was usually several times a day as shifts changed etc. When we had down time. But sometimes we made pizzas just for the crew as well. We weren't supposed to, employees were supposed to buy their food at a 10% discount. But unless you were taking it home, we never asked anyone to pay. We also traded pizzas in the mornings with subway, which was a couple doors down, for a whole pan of fresh out of the oven cookies 😋

When i was in middle school our school was right across the street from a Catholic Church. Every FRIDAY the police would close the road between the school and the church and they took us across to the church for PIZZA. The basement of the church had several PIZZA ovens and stoves. They would sell food on the weekend. There were 15 or so older ITALIAN ladies who made all Italian food from SCRATCH. PIZZA was PHENOMINAL. BEST SCHOOL MEMORY EVER. It was FREE BTY. Our experience is that little ones want to help, but... most parents are "smart enough " to know they are too little to actually help. So... they tell them "no" over and over and wait until they are bigger. Then, they expect the desire to still be there, but they've already stifled that willing heart and now they have no interest.
If you let them "help" from the tiny age they want to, you can keep that willing heart.
