Black Provence Fig

This fig was acquired from Richard Watts several years ago. There has been some confusion that this is a synonym for Ischia Black as some other publication had listed it as such. Although it is a dark fig and the leaves have reddish petioles, it is not the same. If not caprified, the pulp of these fruits are light pink or amber while Ischia Black are always medium to dark red in color inside. Still, it is a good productive fig worth growing.
