Lubaantun, Belize | Mayan Pyramids, Strange Energies & the Crystal Skull | Megalithomania

Hugh Newman explores southern Belize and meets Ambrocio, a Kekchi Maya while exploring Lubaantun and Nim Li Punit, ancient Mayan cities. Ambrocio shared stories from his ancestors of strange lights moving through the sky between the two sites and Hugh discusses 'earth lights' and natural earth energies. It was here in the mid 1920s that the daughter of famous explorer Frederick Mitchell-Hedges said she found a perfectly carved crystal skull in one of the pyramids. To this day, it is unclear what really happened or if the skull is authentic. However, the site is very interesting and is built from large basalt blocks with menhirs and strange artifacts. They also visits another amazing site - Nim Li Punit, that has the tallest menhirs/stelae in the Mayan world.

Great video, I was in belize later that year and explored the Actun Tunichil Muknal
caves near Belmopan. Incredible place, ancient mayan artifacts are left where they were found, so many clay pots and other cooking utensils. The highlights were the crystallised remains of two skeletons.

Went on a mission trip at 15(now 48 yrs old)to stay at acres of love children's home in the toledo district of belize with missionaries.we went to these ruins, caves, swam n the blue creeks, rivers, Caribbean sea & the time I had was smthg I will never forget.the mayan ppl are so sweet and amazing!ty for this video God bless!

Great film of the ruin city! I noticed the blocks from Mitchell-hedges photos are the same! HOWEVER, the skull is fake, made in Germany in the 1840s. The value of this clip is the filming of the ruins! GREAT!

The Crystal Skulls were fabricated in Germany in the 19th Century, in fact in the gem and Diamond-polishing cities of those places, that were unified in 1933 in the city of Idar-Oberstein. The client was a prosperous man by the name of Florian Rosenfelder, from Germany, who operated privately and was a hobbyist archaeologist and who brought the crystal heads also to the Maya region, then to "discover" it in order to cause a sensation. Although he was able only to place the crystal heads at different places where he thought they would be "discovered" before witnesses however, he did not succeed with that because he died of a poisoning, that he suffered through the natives, who then robbed him. The Skulls are simply a fraud.
