I think this is called "ẹlẹ́tẹ"
Ẹlẹ́tẹ do make a spit-like liquid that covers the on the leaves.
If anyone spits too much, Yoruba would say "ó ń tu itọ́ bí ẹlẹ́tẹ" meaning he/she is spitting like ẹlẹ́tẹ.
