(REVIEW) - Grim Idle on Xbox

My name is Rik, but I go by Fire when it comes to gaming. I've been gaming on Xbox for 20+ years and play just about every type of Xbox game there is.

Very glad I came here, which idle game on console did you enjoy the most thus far?

I encountered a gamebreaking bug with the Armageddon skill. It creates an error code and freezes the game, leaving you stuck on the shard unable to perform the ritual unless you leave the game running for however many days it might take to scale your damage and beat the shard, or you just simply leave the shard, losing the progress you made so far.

This game is odd. The achievements are too easy to acquire, and people will likely lose interest soon after having all of them. Also, weird that it has such a high gamer-score for how easy it is to get them. Undoubtedly the devs made the game grindy to incentivize the allure of purchasing micro-transactions; that being said there are only two micro-transactions and I think they are one time purchase only. It will take forever to get to the endgame. Collecting shards revolves around quests system that gives them out after timed intervals, and only gives a few. To get a good weapon, it’ll cost you 400+ shards in the shop. It’ll take weeks or more of idle farming to get that much.

My advice to anyone willing to stick with it: focusing on upgrading the first weapon you get as it is easy to upgrade vs other weapons, and then focusing on upgrading xp gains as well as some super cheap upgrades in the “black wax store”. Beyond that, remember that this is an idle game. Pretty hands off. I just play this in the background while watching YouTube.
