I read an interview of Bowie years ago that he was in a hotel in NYC and had to get up early for an appearance. Someone next door was loudly trying to figure this song out to the point of keeping Mr Bowie up late. He went and knocked on the door to just show the guy how to play it to quiet them down, and it turned out it was Tennis Pro John McEnroe👍🏼 If there was YouTube lessons back then maybe he’d have gotten more sleep

It's great to have a " go to" to learn. We had to learn riffs from listening to the radio,
( Whenever the song came on), and we had to play from memory, because we had no access to records, so we learned many songs in the wrong key
I learned this, starting with a G, played it here and there with a few bands, and believe it or not, it makes it harder to transition. ( Also figured out many chords wrong).
