My son did his first carrier landing qualification on the F18 Superhornet on this ship. I’m very proud of him.

The commissioning of this great super aircraft carrier brings my memory back 76 years ago on December 7, 1941 at Pearl Harbor what if the US Navy at that time have no aircraft carriers! It could been a great calamity of unimaginable proportions to the freedom loving people of the world....God bless your great country - Americans I envy all of you....

When of heard of President Ford's passing in 2006 I was heartbroken and deeply saddened. Though not old enough to remember his Presidency he has always been one of my favorite President's. Gerald was a man of integrity, honor, bravery, courage, honesty and respect! USS Gerald R. Ford not only carries on his legacy but pays a tremendous tribute to his memory. To all the crew who serve aboard this vessel know this: Americans all throughout the globe support you, we love you and we wish this mighty ship several successful and fulfilling deployments throughout her 30+ yrs at sea! In closing I wish all of you fair winds and following seas!
