Their making such a big deal about a cat 1 which is the equivalent to a small tornado or a large thunderstorm. The worst this could do is knock down some trees and telephone lines, maybe destroyed a few houses, and cause flooding to the coast, But they continue to make a huge ass deal about it.

The media is all pissed that it's a Cat 1, which is basically a tropical storm. There will be flooding and home damage from the rain but it was not quite what they were hoping for.

You shouldn't even try to go to the stores at the last minute. Any prudent person already has his supplies stored up in his house. That way, if an emergency occurs, you just sit back, smile, and open a cold one while you watch the unprepared rabble swamping the stores.
