For those who are looking to buy the S3 and dunno which version to buy, i am going to be as forthcoming as i can :
1) Model i747M is the ATT version with Dual-core, 2gb ram and LTE 700Mhz frequency (north american LTE)
2) Best quadcore version is called i9305 : its the same as i9300 but has 2gb Ram
3) the first quad international version with 1gb ram presented in this video.
Please note you'll have HSPA 42Mb+ on both i9305 and i9300 if you are planning to use in North America.

No the Quad Core one is only 3G, and made for international markets. Whereas the Dual Core is made specifically for the US, I heard that they had to remove two cores to make room for the 4G radio or something like that. That's why they added 2 gigs of ram, too make up for the missing processing speed.

The extra 1GB of RAM makes the US version superior for most tasks. I regularly use up 1GB just from casual browsing (the phone uses up 600MB alone with no apps running), and hardly ever utilize the processor to its full potential except when gaming. In fact, I use the Galaxy's power saving mode to underclock it to 1GHz most of the time, and that's plenty of power for normal usage!

it's Dead Trigger - you can change the graphics to "high" in the game, but we have a video explaining how to mod the game to enable enhanced graphics

Dual core version has 2GB of RAM.  Quad core version has 1GB of RAM.  Besides that, it's almost like having a dual core i5 CPU (think laptops) vs a Core 2 Quad.  The dual core has much, MUCH more processing power per core, but if something is truly quad core optimized, the quad core has a chance of equaling or out performing the dual.

Quad core doesn't always mean faster although it may have some advantage however the quad core has a9 architecture while the s4 has some similarities to a15 architecture by benchmarks 2 A15's give more power than 4 a9's. But in this case almost equivalent

that's too bad. We have all the phones sent to us from the manufacturers for the purpose of reviewing, we are a trusted source of information regarding Android.

Finally! Only comparison of us vs international on the net. Thanks!

Should compare LTE I9300 version (I9305), that also has quad core, but comes with 2gb ram instead of 1gb.

I was actually about to cancel my order for the LTE version, because it "only" had two cores. Thank you very much for the video :)

Good video choice I've been wondering why i could find no video on this yet... I'll Subscribe for that

Interesting comparison! My single core(1GHz) DROID X that i bought for $80 is just fine for me. Quad core is a bit too much since i dont run CPU-intensive apps on my phone. Still cool though! :)

Yes pls do a test running flash and show how many more apps can run on the dual core and if that slows dow the phone and drains more battery. Also do a internet speed test of AT&T LTE on the dual core vs the quad core HSPA+21

In the UK, Three are doing them on pay monthly for £29 per month with a £29 upfront cost.

ahhh okay i know what you mean now. i read an article about the s4 having two CPUs, one is for heavy loads and one, very low power CPU for idle/normal tasks. very cool stuff. i don't think the a7 should be a quad core though. it should be a low power dual core. hopefully by then they will have the 22NM CPUs allowing them to consume even less power and generating less heat. one thing i noticed is after playing need for speed, the front and back of my s3 gets VERY hot.

The thing about quad core, it doesn't necessarily mean it's faster. Especially if apps aren't developed to utilize all of the cores. Benchmarking tests are obviously going to show an improvement on the quad core but that doesn't show real life performance. Sure, the quad core has more potential, but app developers are generally not developing for quad core phones. I think the actual testing (benchmark aside) of this vid prove this point well, both ran apps pretty much the same.

Apparently in South Korea, they have a domestic variant that has the Exynos Quad Core with 2GB or RAM. That is the ultimate S3.
I have the dual core variant; I can tell you this; it's already more than fast enough for 90% of the population.
