What Happened to The Wild Seas?

Hey Frenz! Today I will be breaking down some of the letters left aboard the pirate ship in this most recent Halloween update. I'm extremely glad and appreciative of the wild west community for their patience and continued loyalty and support for the game, and for me, even in its darkest times. We've been through a lot as a studio, and the community only knows a small fraction of it because it's not too relevant or appropriate to share. But fear not, we aren't lost at sea and we are still all devoted to releasing some awesome things.

Personally, I've not been able to work as much on the wild west as I used to. But I've still been working a lot secretly on a big new aspect to the game, and also juggling other projects and some hardships in life. Luckily, things are starting to calm down again for all of us and the clouds are beginning to clear.

Without the continued support of the community we'd be dead in the water, but we know how much the game and our promises mean to so many people so that alone inspires us to fulfill them

TWS is not officially canceled, but it was put on the backburner because it's fate is still uncertain and we needed to focus all our efforts back into the wild west

Kazuhira really thinks about the community and even though he has little time, he still tries to do something for us. I hear a lot of people say the devs are lazy but to be honest Kazuhira deserved everyone’s respects and he would make a great dedicated Owner.

Hearing this, it makes me understand the hard times the team is going through, and Kazuhira (I hope I spelled that right, I’m sorry if I did not). I am very grateful for this small event that Kazuhira has given us, and I hope everyone else is grateful too. This was a very good event, and it gave me the opportunity to get some new items, and a chance to get some items I didn’t get last year. Overall, I hope that the team comes back together, and they will continue to make excellent games in the future. Thank you so much Kazuhira, Tyridge77, Sky, Redtrain, and all of the other developers for making this game the way it is today. And big thanks to Frenzy for sharing this information with all of us.

after this video I’m devestated and so upset, not at the starboard staff but at myself. 2 years ago when I watched the teaser, I felt a sudden excitement that a pirate game will be released and for once it would’ve been soo good!

And its such a shame that so much of the community right now is going "man the devs r so lazy" when they don't even know the actual situation at hand. I can only wish Kazuhira and the rest of the dev team all the best and hope things brighten up for them, as well as say a big thank you for what's already been done.

I heard that Tyridge had some family issues going on or something a while ago, maybe that is what is delaying The Wild West's updates. Hopefully he can get that sorted out and we can get moving again, but I do understand that everything needs time.

Honestly mad respect to Kazuhira for making an update for us, I think it's unfair that so many people crap on the devs when it's a small dev team and not a massive one like Rockstar games.

I just hope the wild west wont die as well, it is such a unique and fun game, but I do wonder though why not hire more devs to help with everything? Even offering the jobs to members of the community that have the skills for coding and such, since they are well tuned with the game's spirit and theme....
