hi! welcome to my channel! today, in time for the 2024 mlb season, i will be teaching you the basics of how to keep score :) this is as close to a low budget, all inclusive guide to keeping score as you can get baby! i will teach you the basics of how to score a baseball game as well as resources for finding the right score book for your needs.

11:06 - pitch counts & strikeouts

Nice work Swillard Fillmore, great video (easy bet, your channel's gonna be massive by post-season). As an English fan I've only ever attended one game, Daisuke Matsuzaka's Fenway debut vs Mariners back in '07. A lovely bloke next to me was scoring the game, when he learned I was English and a first-timer he gave me some sheets and told me to copy what he marked down so I'd have a souvenir. I was so happy, I kept it in a plastic folder like a good little nerd. But then I moved house and lost it!

I really enjoy your videos and I appreciate your understanding of the game. I stopped watching baseball after the ‘94 strike, and didn’t start watching again until 2020 thanks to Covid and sheltering in place. Could you do a video explaining all the stat headings? Obviously I understand the basics like BB, but there are many I’m not sure about. I’m a Jays fan, I was at their first game as I’m a Torontonian, and I’m hoping for a better season this year. Unlike many others, I’m happy to have JT and IKF on our team, I think they’ll add value. Thanks for your playful yet informative videos.

Great tutorial :D I started doing score last year cause I noticed how much I was doing things other than watching the game lol

I wish I could have the focus to write down every detail like you do. I'm old school where I still bring a metal manual pitch counter, pen, and small flip over notepad to write notes or errors in my mind. I get too involved just watching everything live and forget to write it. Tip my cap to you for the invaluable information.

I used to keep scores back when I was like 13 or 14 back in Puerto Rico. I was trying to get into it but I suddenly stopped. No reason, it just happened :( I may give this another go. Thanks for the video and keep up the awesome content.

You are certainly more dedicated to scoring than I. I've been going to Wrigley since the 70's, and I don't think I have ever finished a scorecard. Excellent video.
