Interesting, bought the jig at Totally Turning 2015 but have yet to put it to use, will have to see which version I have, I know Chefware will be at Totally Turning 2016 hopefully I can exchange it for the much improved model.

What is the limiting factor for the length of threads? I'd like to make a long threaded rod for a vise.

I have never seen anyone thread a wooden rod before and I would like to learn how. It was hard following you not knowing what each piece did or how it worked. How about a demonstration video?
