Adrian Sherwood at On-U Studios

Learn from the Master - Adrian Sherwood shows us around his On-U Studio and talks us through his fabulous racks of gear – including his old favourites that may only make one sound – but a sound so good it’s worth trying to keep the machine alive.

Adrian also runs through a warm-up mix of “Soon Come” by daughter Denise Sherwood, where he decides where to incorporate effects and get the rhythm swinging properly.

Part man, part mixing board. Amazing to see the incredible skills so honed. One of my best life moments was going up to the balcony at an On-U Sound System gig at University of London Union and finding that Adrian Sherwood was up there working the desk while Mark Stewart stood next to him toasting on the mic (with the crowd down on the main floor not realizing).
