Besides the Louis and Harry shipping being obsessive and creepy, i find it to be rooted in patriarchal ideals, toxic masculinity culture, and maybe even homophobia. Why can't boys/young men have close friendships with one another without being assumed to be gay? Why can't men hug each other or be physically close with their friends without it automatically being seen as sexual? As a teenage girl, i held hands with, hugged, and cuddled with my friends and no one ever thought anything of it... it's a weird double standard that needs to end.

They were so young forced to deal with extreme harassment and continuous invasive questioning / rumors. Incredibly ignorant US fans, not realizing that European boys are much more touchy/demonstrative, weren't shut down by their parents nor the media. These same fans are unhealthily obsessed. Get into therapy and realize their sex lives are none of your business no more than yours is mine.
