Показать описание
Short to ground? What does that mean? And how do I fix it?
In this video, we’ll show you how to:
✅How to diagnose a No Power device.
✅What does it mean when there's a short.
✅How to use a thermal camera to find a short.
✅How does a capacitor work.
✅How to inject voltage with a DC Power Supply
✅How to clear the short
✅Do I need to replace the shorted capacitor?
✅And more!
This iPhone XR doesn't turn on. It charges at 0.431A via USB. On a DC Power Supply, it draws about 0.700A via the battery connector. Usually that means there's a short on a main power rail, like VDD MAIN, VDD BOOST or sometimes SPKAMP.
In this case, it was a short on VDD BOOST.
Using a thermal camera, I was able to spot the shorted capacitor right away.
Watch the full video to get a full explanation on how this all works. Understanding this fundamental information will help you solve a large majority of No Power situations.
