India remains fastest growing economy | BBC News

India's economy grew by 8.4% in the final three months of 2023, its fastest pace in one-and-half years.

This was in comparison with the 7.6% growth in the previous quarter, government data showed on Thursday.

The growth, which was led by strong manufacturing and construction activity, bolstered Prime Minister Narendra Modi's economic record just months before a national election.

Really BBC? That's the 'best' thumbnail you could get? Also, your reporter said the numbers offer a lot of question marks but the explanation that followed really didn't substantiate that claim. Did she mean the numbers are suspect? And then she goes on to say government spending pushed the numbers up! I don't know about others, but I am really confused.
