Hello everyone!

I have a quinacridone gold video comparison, which is all about watercolors. I first fell in love with the M.Graham quinacridone gold, as I was able to mix beautiful and vibrant mixes. Since each brand does their formulations a little different, I decided to buy as many brands as I could to compare them.

So tell me, which one is your favorite? And which other colors would you like me to compare?

Very informative and really shows the differences twixt brands. Just yesterday I purchased the Daniel Smith Quin Gold, prior to viewing this. It is more yellow than I expected but I love it. It is so versatile in mixes. I also love the Deep version and should be able to mix the regular Quin gold to get it. The QoR has a harsh gradient, the M. Graham reflects my experience with their paints - gunky, gritty, runny, yucky. The others don’t impress me. Just my take on this beautiful color. Thanks!

The only two I have is Winsor and Newton and Daniel Smith. I prefer the W and N one over DS. W&N no longer making it as I found out last night. They have replaced it with Transparent Gold Deep which I haven’t tried yet. DS not making it either. Don’t know what they have replaced it with. Thank you!

Nice comparison video! I have some of these colors (DS and MG), and usually have one of them in my palette at all times. I really like your swatch mixes, Quin Gold is a very useful mixing color. Thank you for posting this video, it is well done! :)

I've still got a tube of the original PO49 (as well as a DS convenience color that also contains the pigment), and I use it sparingly. It's got an earthiness that the hues just can't replicate, and the PY150 is just too bright. Out of these, the DS and WN are the closest to the original, but still too yellow in washes. The others are much more orange. I've tried a few others, and they're all nice, but they're practically just another gamboge hue with slightly darker masstone. Roman Szmal actually has two different Quin gold hues. I've only tried Schmincke's on a dot card, so not enough to really give an opinion.
And yes, as someone else stated, PR206 is being discontinued, but you can still get it if you're wanting to try it before it's gone.

I bought the Roman Szmal, actually the Quin Gold Hue cuz they show a picture with their Quin and the original PO49. I love it but only have that one
