I am Ariadne,
goddess of paths and festivals.

Once, I was a princess of Crete.

My father, King Minos, ruled the seas
and clung to his power.

After my brother’s death,
a war began.
Crete defeated Athens.

As punishment,
my father demanded Athens send sacrifices
to the Minotaur in the labyrinth.

I was nothing more
than a tool of the kingdom.

I was destined
for a political marriage,
bound to my father’s plans.

One day,
a prince of Athens arrived as a sacrifice.

His name was Theseus.

But he was different
from those who had accepted their fate.

“I will survive,” he said.
“And I will return to Athens.”

He was my enemy’s prince.
But I wanted to help
someone who dared to defy fate.

For the first time,
I made a choice of my own.

I found a way out of the labyrinth
and gave Theseus a thread.

He killed the Minotaur
and returned alive.

“Will you leave Crete with me?”
he asked.

I was afraid.
But I imagined a new life
born from my choice.

So I refused my father’s plans
and left Crete with Theseus.

We reached the island of Naxos
to find food and water.

For the first time,
I allowed myself to rest.
And I fell asleep.

When I awoke,
he was gone.

I could not return to Crete.
And Athens was no longer my home.

But I refused
to surrender to despair.

I drank rainwater
from the cracks in the rocks
and left signals with stones,
hoping someone would find me.

Days passed in silence.

Then, one night,
I heard music.

A light approached.

He was a stranger,
but he spoke my name.

“I am Dionysus,
god of wine and festivals.”

“Ariadne,
I saw you carve your own path.
Will you come with me?”

I took his hand
and followed him to Olympus.

The gods honored me
for forging my destiny.

They made me a goddess.

Dionysus gave me
a golden crown as a gift of love.

He cast it into the sky,
and it became the constellation
called the Northern Crown.

Now I shine among the stars,
