Wendiceratops pinhornensis, a new horned dinosaur

Wendiceratops pinhornensis is a new species of horned dinosaur described from over 200 bones collected in Oldman Formation, Alberta, Canada. Wendiceratops lived about 79 million years ago, was approximately 6 meters (20 feet) long and weighed more than a ton. It is one of the oldest known members of the family Ceratopsidae. The dinosaur was approximately 6 meters (20 feet) long and weighed more than a ton. The name Wendiceratops (WEN-dee-SARE-ah-TOPS) means "Wendy's horned-face", and celebrates renowned Alberta fossil hunter Wendy Sloboda, who discovered the site in 2010. A full-sized Wendiceratops skeleton is currently on display at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto.
