Biogents Mosquito Trap #2: Setting Up for Year 2

Setting up my mosquito trap, I will post a follow up on how many mosquitos we catch.

I just got mine and set it up. Finding that the valve lid is so tight that it wont toggle open when the fan is on. I checked to make sure i have the suction funnel on correctly and it is. I had to use a rock to sort of "prop open" the valve. I didnt check to see if it can be loosened. The moment I brought it out the scent was attracting the mosquitos right away!!! Hoping it works for me as it is miserable to sit in my back yard! Thanks for the vid!

This system is simply incredible! The mosquitos love the CO2. Im going to let the bag fill up before I change it out. Can you post a video how you change out your bag? Does it matter if leaves get into the trap?

Thanks for this video- looking to get the biogents Mosquitaire CO2 trap and the GAT trap. Found your videos and was wondering if you still are using the traps (I saw you had both) and how they are holding up. How would you characterize your mosquito experience before using the traps, one year after, and if you’re still using them, five years later? Do you barely get bit when you go outside now? Thanks!

Hey. Great videos, thanks! I was researching various machines available in Europe for the last week, finally decided on the one you have. One with CO2, will probably order a few more regular ones, and then just hook up the tube from central co2 tank to all of them. I am interested in the valves you are using. I tried gardena style 1/4" valve for watering garden (micro drip system) and I think it will work, but its really hard to regulate flow (as it is made for water). Your valves look metalic and much more robust and I guess also precise. Which is a must have when one connects 3-4 devices to one tube. On the co2 regulator - what is the flow you use? 0, 5kg/day per device, meaning if you have 4, thats 2kg/day? thanks

Do you think that nozzle really wafts or alters the exit path of the co2? You think with just the hose it wouldn’t work spreading the co2?

What type of hose did you use to extend the one that it ships with? Is it just standard 1/4" irrigation poly tube?

I'm still worried about rain and that fan and the attractant. And the filling of the bowl unless there are drain holes. What do yo think?
