In a book i saw a problem where a bandlimited signal had a bandwidth of 8Hz(as fh was 30 and fl was 22hz)..so the min Fs should have been 2B=16Hz,
But in that book min Fs was calculated as Fs=2fh/k, where k is an largest integer less than fh/B that is K =3hz, so fs min=2*30/3=20Hz

So is the right ans 16hz or 20hz???

hey, there is a small correction 2*B is always not valid, as fs = 2*fh/[k], so it [k] and not k. There is a problem that i encountered "A B.P. Signal occupies the bandwidth of 390khz to 410khz. What is the minimum, sampling frequency to be used".

a) 40khz
b) 41khz
c) 820khz
d) 800khz

By, using 2*B we get 40khz as the answer but by using fs = 2*fh/[k], we get the answer as 41khz.

What happens if the non-zero band of the band pass signal is from 6.5 kHz to 8.5 kHz ? In this case, B is also 2 kHz. Does your formula, fs = 2B, still work ?

In some lectures I've seen they take value of k as the minimum integer less than fh/B.... what's the reason?
