ACA520 has been my secret weapon since I picked it up in August.

With ACA500, 3D ONE, and ACA520, one can have a trio of polishes that can work on just about anything. All three utilize the unique formulations that I've only experienced from 3D, and their Alpha Ceramic Alumina abrasives.

I agree about the oilyness of 520. I'm that respect it's a lot like 3D ONE and AAT502. What I do to mitigate this, is load with four drops, and reload with two on a 5.5" pad.

I did have one car out of dozens that 520 wasn't able to finish haze free, and that was a 2017 GMC Sierra - black. I was using a white Rupes pad. I bet a black Lake Country HDO would have been fine. The blue Buff and Shine pads I use on my 8mm Porter Cable probably would have been fine as well. CarPro Reflect left worse marring that any of the compounds I used to cut (mostly Megs M110).

Where I position 520 is for ultra fine finishing. For on3 steps I will usually turn to something lime 3D One.

Really nice work on the Mazda! I recently gave 3D ACA520 a try on a paint enhancement, used a Buff and Shine green polishing pad, the paint was in good condition to start with, though the ACA 520 made it really pop, I would go as far as saying this can compete with Sonax Perfect Finish in most scenarios.

At Brian's suggestion I just did my son's new 2021 Blazer with this and Lake Country White polishing pads to prep it for ceramic coating and the results were spectacular. Mirror finish. No residue. Wipe off was just slightly less than ideal but still not a big deal considering some other polishers and compounds I've used over the years. 3D really makes great stuff.

There is a small, insane, part of me that is SLIGHTLY jealous of the medium and softer clear coats because they are easier to cut.

I have a 2020 VW Tiguan and the paint is like bloody rock!
Medium foam cutting pad and Sonax CutMaxx and the clear coat just laughed at it, and me, basically!

But I suppose that's the trade off for the fact that it doesn't mark up as easily.

Oh, how I wish you would be the detailer Devon Audi uses. In approximately 3 months I'll be picking up my RS6 and I will be cautioning them not to f*** up my paint before I take it home. You have given me the confidence to be able to properly take care of my cars. i used that knowledge to make my 12 yo E90 shine better than new.
